What is the AED Training Box?
The AED Training Box is a solution to help acquire, train and teach basic life support skills and the use of defibrillators.
Designed with end users, this tool can help instructors, teachers and first responders
(police, lifeguards) to disseminate the knowledge of Basic Life Support and the use of AEDs in the general population.
It consists of two components: a smart-phone application and a carton box that holds the phone. Combined, the product simulates an AED.

How to use the AED Training Box?
In less than 10 minutes you can assemble your box. Electrodes and information BLS leaflets are provided which can be safely stored in the box.

Four training scenarios are offered for training:
A responding victim with a serious health problem.
STAGE 2
A non-responding victim who is breathing.
STAGE 3
The victim does not respond, nor breathe or is breathing abnormally (gasping): cardiac arrest.
STAGE 4
Use of the defibrillator in a victim in cardiac arrest.

Objectives
Each sscenario offers the instructor learning goals, and outlines the skills the student should acquire by the end of the training session.
The instructor can download the app on a Smartphone, tablet or gain access through the website. Once registered as a user, the instructor can access the apps functions.
A code is needed to set up a training session which the instructor needs to communicate to the students.
The learner can download the app and access the app by clicking on the Learner option. No fee or registration is required. To continue training the student should introduce the code the instructor provides.
Once set up, the instructor will give instructions: watch a video, do a test or activate the simulator mode and place the phone in the box

We want everyone to acquire life support skills to improve survival rates after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
Our work and training experience helped us to identify barriers to training and to find affordable and creative solutions.
Use the app to train in the use of the defibrillator.
Send a simple test reminding students of the practical concepts.
